RESEARCH

I am a second-year PhD student in the English and Comparative Literature programme at Columbia University, focusing on experimental poetics, form, and race. I study Asian diasporic poetry in the USA and the UK, exploring innovation and alterity through the framework of poetic difficulty, difficult being and diasporic bodies. More broadly, I am interested in how we interpret experimental and avant-garde literature at the intersections of politics with aesthetics, material history with form. My study draws upon these fields: comparative and world literature; postcolonial and decolonial studies; global modernisms; the study of hyper-contemporary literature and literary prizes; creative-critical and hybrid research practices.
