The MFA application process can be daunting and confusing. I am offering a tailored and individual package of one-to-one support, mentorship and feedback for applicants interested in applying for MFA degrees. Over a period of months each mentorship will be different based on your tailored needs however we will answer key questions such as:

-
What can a MFA provide me?
-
How do I narrow down my MFA programmes?
-
How can I curate and edit a writing sample?
-
How should I write a statement of purpose?

During my first application season I received a combination of fully-funded offers and waitlist offers from Brown University, University of Michigan, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Cornell University, New York University, University of Notre Dame, and the University of East Anglia in the UK. I want to pass on my tips and guidance from my experience of applying through the system. I also have considerable editing and publishing experience, and would offer a critique, at least twice, your writing sample and/or statement of purpose.

Open to writers at any stage of the MFA application process however writers applying for the deadline of December 2020 may benefit the most. Price is negotiable. If you are interested in finding out more, send me a message at jaygying[at]gmail.com.
If you also identify as a queer writer of colour please also get in touch as I am willing to offer this package for free.
